Biography of Lars Onsager
Lars Onsager was a Norwegian-American physical chemist and physicist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1968.
He was born into a family of Erling Onsager, a Supreme Court lawyer, and Ingrid Kirkby. He received his education in his hometown and graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim in 1925 as a chemical engineer.
